Why It Exists
Cricket fans spend hours debating who performed better in a match. Raw statistics don't tell the whole story. A score of 85 on a difficult pitch against quality bowling is different from 85 on a batting-friendly surface.
How It Works
The Comparison Matrix normalizes performance across three dimensions:
- Format factors: Different formats require different skills. Strike rates vary dramatically between Tests and T20s.
- Pitch adjustments: Batting-friendly pitches boost scores, spinner-friendly pitches favor bowlers. We adjust accordingly.
- Contextual weighting: Average and strike rate are combined to create a single Comparison Index.
Who It's For
Fans debating player form, fantasy cricket managers, or anyone who wants to discuss cricket performance with numbers instead of opinion.
Limitations
This is a demonstration tool. Statistics are simplified examples. The model is educational, not definitive. For serious analysis, consult official databases.
